Ad Nauseam

This was my first match and my first time playing against this deck, I’d already looked up the deck and seen it played online, so I kind of knew what to expect. Though the match proved hard to beat i struggled not really knowing what to counter or when.

Sideboard proved hard, putting Swan song, Thoughtseize and Surgical Extraction are all good but then taking out of course Fatal Push x3, Howling Mine x1 and Exhaustion x2 this is the best possible set up. Gigadrowse I could of slowed him down on his upkeep and took out Commands which would of been a good options but Lighting Storm is an instant so it wouldn’t of made much difference. Unfortunately I lost 2-1.

Klark-Clan Ironworks

Second Match was vs KCI (Krark-Clan Ironworks) and more of a which decks goes off first match. I had to learn how to stop this deck and to always counter his Krark-Clan Ironworks so he couldn’t go off, if that card hits the battlefield I lose the game. Thoughtseize proved well in game two, dropping fatal push, after realising the deck can’t win without the Krark-Clan Ironworks being in play. Also took out one Cryptic Command to put in Thassa, reason being it is another win con and also I don’t think they have a way to kill her, only to bounce it back to my hand. Ended up going 2-0.

Eldrazi Tron

Third Match was vs Eldrazi Tron, slow game and a very easy match up for Taking Turns. I did manage to drawing seven cards a turn and missing a time walk effect which was interesting, but having Exhaustion was good to hold him back. My only fears were Thought-Knot Seer and maybe Karn Liberated, Chalice can stop my serums visions but outside of that, the game is very smooth on my part. Though you have to look out for Warping Wail just in case they do counter your Time Warp effect. Went 2-0.

Storm

Last game was vs Storm. This match up I struggle against, though changing up the sideboard with two more Thoughtseize and one more Surgical Extraction will help with these combo match ups. Gigadrowse proved good to stop / slow down the combo on their upkeep due to Grapeshot being a sorcery. A match which needs to be learned. Lost 2-1.

Overall I did manage to take games off the people I lost against overall, so the deck is proving to be strong vs tier deck lists and it can really hold it’s own
